Where I have been
So far, I've visited 157 of 197 countries (193 UN member states + 4 observer states), along with dozens of territories and places that don't appear on that list.
My aim is simple: to visit them all.
Along the way, I'm building a growing library of travel guides, stories, and resources. My goal is to have at least one article for every destination I've visited. With more than 70 destinations already covered, I'm still playing catch-up (around 83 to go), but I'm getting there.
Use the map above to explore where I've been. Countries highlighted in blue have dedicated travel content ready to discover.
-

Africa
Africa never fits neatly into a single story. These posts follow the places, people and experiences that made travelling across the continent so memorable. -

American Samoa
American Samoa felt remote in the best possible way. Dramatic coastlines, quiet villages and a slower rhythm made it feel far removed from the rest of the world. -

Andorra
Andorra is easy to overlook between France and Spain, but that would be a mistake. The mountain scenery and unusual microstate status made it far more interesting than a quick border stop. -

Antarctica
Icebergs, penguins, expedition ships and the kind of cold that makes you question your life choices. Find all my Antarctica stories and experiences here. -

Argentina
Argentina gave me big distances, late nights and plenty of reasons to stay longer than planned. Read about the experiences that took me from its capital to the far edges of the country. -

Asia
Asia has given me some of my biggest culture shocks, best food and most unpredictable journeys. This category brings together the stories from across the continent. -

Australia
Wild coastlines, enormous distances and roads that seem to go on forever. This is where all my Australian adventures, stories and mishaps live. -

Australia & New Zealand
Two countries, countless adventures and more than a few questionable decisions. Dig into everything I’ve written from both sides of the Tasman.
-

Bahrain
Bahrain is small enough to cross quickly, but there is more beneath the polished surface than first appears. My time there offered a glimpse into one of the Gulf’s less-discussed countries. -

Belize
Tiny country, huge personality. Expect Caribbean islands, ancient ruins, jungle adventures and plenty of time spent underwater. -

Bolivia
Travel in Bolivia can be rough around the edges—and that is exactly why it sticks with you. The altitude alone made sure none of these stories came easily. -

Brazil
Brazil is too big, loud and varied to fit the version shown in holiday brochures. My posts dig into the places and experiences I found beyond the obvious image. -

Cambodia
Cambodia stayed with me for reasons that went well beyond Angkor Wat. Its history, people and atmosphere gave the trip far more weight than I expected. -

Central America
Volcanoes, jungle, Caribbean beaches and border crossings that rarely go completely to plan. This is the home of my adventures across Central America. -

Challenges
Some experiences begin with a terrible idea and end with a decent story. This is where the physical tests, personal experiments and questionable decisions live. -

Chile
Few countries stretch across extremes quite like Chile. Following it south meant watching the landscape become stranger, emptier and considerably more dramatic. -

China
China is difficult to sum up and even harder to fully understand in one visit. Every stop seemed to reveal a completely different version of the country. -

Colombia
Colombia turned out to be far more welcoming and addictive than its reputation suggested. One destination quickly became another, and the stories kept piling up. -

Costa Rica
Rainforests, wildlife, surf towns and more adventure activities than any sensible person needs. Here’s everything I got up to in Costa Rica. -

Europe
Europe may be familiar on the map, but every country has its own rhythm, quirks and surprises. These posts cover the experiences that stood out along the way. -

Israel
Israel gave me plenty to admire, question and think about long after leaving. This section reflects my experience of a place where history, religion and modern politics are impossible to separate. -

Japan
Japan lived up to some expectations and completely dismantled others. The stories here explore the country beyond the usual clichés. -

Jordan
Jordan made an immediate impression—and not only because of Petra. Some of the best moments came from the hospitality, desert journeys and unexpected encounters in between. -

Kuwait
Kuwait is rarely high on anyone’s travel list, which was exactly part of its appeal. It offered a quieter and more curious look at life in the Gulf. -

Laos
Laos moves at its own pace, and fighting it is pointless. Once I slowed down, it became one of the easiest places to properly sink into. -

Liechtenstein
Liechtenstein is tiny, absurdly wealthy and wedged neatly into the Alps. It may not take long to cross, but ticking off another microstate was half the fun. -

Lifestyle Design
Building a life around freedom takes more than quitting your job and buying a plane ticket. These posts look at the choices, systems and trade-offs behind living differently. -

Mexico
Mexico kept pulling me back, and every visit revealed something different. There is far more here than beaches, resorts and the version most tourists barely venture beyond. -
